Welcome to our OOC intro and CR meme. We encourage you all to get out there, plot, and introduce yourself!

There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game. Players are free to introduce their characters however they like.

◎ Nocwich is OPEN every first weekend of each month. Characters can get some cross-faction CR here! Beyond those 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and outside of game events, characters from opposing nations will only be able to see each other in the Horizon.

◎ A Conclave vote is being held in relation to Event #15, prior to the OOC Plotting Post. Please submit your vote by October 11th. New arrivals may participate!

◎ The OOC Plotting is scheduled for the 13th of this month, while the IC Event Log is scheduled for the 15th. This month's event will require the Summoned to make an important choice to help save a vital ecosystem.

CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Viktor is a scientist-slash-genius engineer-slash-BIG NERD. He's spent the last 6-7 years developing magitech with his research partner, which has not necessarily played out as he would have hoped, with much of his work being co-opted by rich people who are only interested in doing rich people things. He comes off as a fussy academic but is actually an agent of chaos who loves to break rules and do weird science and ponder orbs. Despite his general penchant for putting himself in danger by screwing around with unknown forces he does not fully understand and can't control, he is an idealistic, highly principled individual who believes that the purpose of scientific advancement is to improve lives. He’s soft-spoken but quietly ambitious, intellectually curious, and kind of an obsessive workaholic who is preoccupied with legacy.

I have an info and permissions post here and his app is here for further reading. Also a general heads up that Viktor is terminally ill—I content warn accordingly when relevant, but he basically has Fantasy Consumption and the desire to Not Die is a large part of his character motivation at his current canon point. VIKTOR IS NO LONGER TERMINALLY ILL. I still have an opt out just in case. Comments are screened!

CR YOU WANT:

✷ Science types, baybe. He hangs around the Cadens academies and likes to be in tune with the general scientific goings-on of the city. If you’re an engineer or a mechanic or another scientifically-inclined individual he would like to connect and swap notes! Also, you know, people to do weird magitech experiments with?? Technologically-inclined people to mentor??? He has, like, an undisclosed number of degrees and likes to talk about math and physics and stuff.
✷ BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS. He wants to connect with people who can do things that he cannot, like go out on dangerous adventures and acquire exciting resources and bring him cool things. IN RETURN: He can fix your shit. He can make you stuff, provided it's not guns! I really want to lean into this now that he has more time/energy for it.
✷ idk. friends. People to get him out of his comfort zone, which is working until 4am and then falling asleep at his desk. He’s also currently having a really bad time because Jayce is gone, which means he’s slipping back into bad habits (not eating or sleeping, working all of the time, etc.) so he needs someone who will tell him to go to bed and/or to stop tampering with the Horrors.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:

✷ Generally, his work involves faking magic via technological methods so he’s very jazzed about the real thing. His fancy Horizon power is identify, which means he can determine the magical properties of something by touching it. He can do this. For you!!! Beyond that he is usually testing projects in the Horizon. if you want to stop by and say hi and ask him what the hell he’s doing.
✷ Once upon a time Viktor did some illegal human experimentation on himself to cure his terminal illness. It worked! But it was definitely shady and in the aftermath the government raided his lab and stole all of the stuff he didn’t manage to burn and/or smash. You are welcome to have heard about this if your character pays attention to such things. He’s also level 7 so feel free to have heard of his additional exploits with regards to various inventions, planting trackers on people to find out where Josselyn’s cult was kidnapping to, etc. Right now he’s working on a mining robot and the chassis is suspended from creepy chains in his workshop if you want to comment on that or something.
✷ Viktor has venture for all your "making things" needs. Bring him your terrible napkin scribbles and he will make your dreams a reality. Would love to have him get working on some new projects now that he isn’t worried about, you know, dying. Pitch him any and all of your ideas, no matter how stupid.
✷ HELP WANTED!! Viktor cannot manage said business on his own, especially now that it’s expanded to Aquila and probably Libertas soon also. He has his eye on Nocwich too. Do you have a character who needs a JOB? A scientifically-inclined guy who might want to be a workshop assistant? Someone who can take the occasional trip to Aquila to manage operations? There may be an OPPORTUNITY for YOU.
✷ Viktor is kind of quietly losing it and has some secret designs to puzzle out the Summoning ritual so that he can create the universe that he wants (this is bad of him). I would like him to talk to other people who plan to stay in Abraxas, or desperately want to leave Abraxas, and also maybe anyone who has knowledge of the multiverse. Just think it might be interesting!!!

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS he was a magistrate in Baldur's Gate some two hundred years ago, which he seems to retain some skill in. He'd have to do some studying of Free Cities law, but if Viktor were in need of another person to handle things like contracts, permits, and greasing the wheels for such endeavors, he'd much rather do that (for money).

Definitely some kind of apprenticing, Altair is ready to LEARN but he can also do practical shit and is very fast at running errands due to the parkour. I am curious what Aquila relations would involve because he's both an inspiring leader in his time and nnnnnot a people person somehow.

Mostly Viktor needs people to check up on commissions/orders in Aquila and deliver things/trade supplies/etc. He will pay the portal fees and Altaïr gets to go to the beach.

CANON: Horizon (Zero Dawn/Forbidden West)

FACTION: Solvunn

CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Aloy hails from a post-apocalyptic version of Earth that was ended by a robot apocalypse and reconstituted via an extremely complex AI-governed terraforming system. This system is currently not in good shape! But it’s much better than it was, thanks to Aloy’s endeavors, though the aforementioned system still churns out a bunch of robot dinosaurs that she needs to kill, a lot. As a result she’s an extremely capable machine hunter slash RPG protagonist slash problem solver who was raised an outcast but has since saved the world like three entire times, and will have to do it one more.

Or she WOULD if she wasn’t HERE. Generally speaking, she’s a determinator with poor social skills but has recently come around to the fact that it’s nice to have a team, and friends, and people she can count on. All of that’s GONE NOW and she’s pretty mad about it, but she’s a good person at her core, and cares very deeply about helping people and not making things worse.

CR YOU WANT:

✷ Fellow hunters/combatants/people who want to go out and kill monsters! She’s used to taking down giant robots with nothing but a bow and arrow/sling/primitive firearms so she’s highly skilled in that department and will gravitate towards people who can hold their own in a fight.
✷ Friends??? People she can warm up to and hang out with even if she will probably be a big jerk to you at first and tell you that god isn’t real.
✷ Aloy is used to working with tech far beyond that of her contemporaries, so she would love to have some people to commiserate with in that department. The story of her version of Earth is a doozy, so I would also love to have her work up to, you know, telling people about it.
✷ HORIZON FRIENDS AND HUNTER’S CLUB WHO WANTS TO FIGHT A ROBOT DINOSAUR IN THE MIND REALM

✷ She’s also canon updated to the end of Burning Shores and is feeling some type of way about it! Did you also experience a canon update? Do you want to talk about HOME??? She’s probably more willing to talk about those kinds of things at the moment. ✷ Really interested in leaning into the whole “the Summoned are being revered” in Solvunn because she knows a thing or two about that. She’s sick of it! That said, in true RPG protagonist form she cannot refuse a side quest. Hey help her find all these goats
✷ She hates cults. She's so mad about everything that just happened in the Pit.
✷ Investigating??? Old gods??? Probably she’s going to want to find the AI behind the curtain, because there is always one.
✷ More practically, establishing some kind of monster hunting group (both for the safety of the primary settlement and also so she can travel further beyond it, you know, as like, a bonus). She can make cool things out of monster parts!
✷ boot camp. if you need to know how to shoot a bow or survive in the woods or eat squirrels she is your girl and I want her to teach all of the solvunn children how to skin a deer.
