Welcome to our OOC intro and CR meme. We encourage you all to get out there, plot, and introduce yourself!

There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game. Players are free to introduce their characters however they like.

Since the upcoming event is fairly large, we've provided an EVENT BRAINSTORM section for new arrivals to receive offers from existing players, who can invite them into their AU histories and help establish potential connections.

Only new characters may fill out the form for this section, but anyone can reply with suggestions. We encourage current players to reply with ways new characters can be incorporated into the event!

Important Notices

This month contains some important in-game occurrences. Be sure to review the details below!

IC Items

◎ Beginning APRIL 6, shortly after the new arrivals, the storm worsens. Lightning now strikes the ground, and heavy rains have led to flooding - including in the normally dry and arid Free Cities. Conditions have grown from troublesome to outright dangerous. While the major cities are better protected, the effects can still be felt. There will be a mounting death toll (moderate), and water damage to homes and businesses.

◎ Portals between cities are CLOSED in every territory. Because of the instabilities, portal travel has been shut down. Characters can still travel via horse or wagon, but authorities suggest limiting any long journeys due to dangerous weather conditions.

◎ Nocwich is CLOSED this month. Characters from opposing territories will only be able to see each other in the Horizon, which continue to undergo some disturbances.

OOC Items

◎ The upcoming event requires players to sign up for an assignment. Please read this post for more details. New players are encouraged to participate! Signing up only requires putting down your character's name.

◎ We recognize the next event has a lot of elements to consider, especially for new players. We encourage you to contact us if you're feeling a little lost! The goal for our events is to let players be as creative as possible. If you have an idea but are unsure of how to implement it or what the limits are, we're happy to guide you.

A Look Ahead

The OOC Plotting is scheduled for the 12th of this month, while the IC Event Log is scheduled for the 17th. The event will involve a glimpse into the future and will go until May 10.

We have some climatic plots planned into summer due to the domino effect that began with Event #17. However, to make sure characters (and players) have some room to breathe, May will be a quiet month with pieces moving in the background before things pick up once more in June.

aaah it is 4 in the morning so I apologize for the probable incoherence but. I am so excited that there’s a Viktor; I love Arcane generally but Viktor is like my personal feels generator (along with Jinx: look we’re all very hinged and also super normal about hextech around here).

Teddy wouldn’t be able to build CR outside the AU but!! Aside from you neatly breaking my heart in an absolutely in character way with the ‘just remove the brain bits’, I think it would be kind of NEAT to throw them at each other somehow during the …eight centuries and see what happens. This is what really caught me:

is known to pay particular attention to the disadvantaged, or those otherwise sickened, damaged, or stifled by industry, pollution, capitalistic exploitation, environmental factors, social injustices, etc.

This is EXACTLY Teddy all over, and yet, with her abilities (I don’t have a post up but I went WAY too far into depth over in this comment) she’s coming from a totally different angle. But, that doesn’t mean they necessarily disagree with each other!

Teddy (Needs Better God Name) isn’t a Luddite; they know technology can be used for good (though this may become a thing they’re less sure of over time just as they become less sure of human goodness over time).

Like: he might be dubious of focused technology because so often new technology is taken and used in terrible ways: weaponized, mass produced, requires resources that destroy the environment and abuse workers to extract — but Viktor’s values are ALSO against that: it’s not Viktor or the tech, it’s the way it’s developed.

Ugh rambling. Anyway I have this sort of idea of them maybe ending up with a back and forth sometimes-collaborative-sometimes-argumentative relationship? Like: maybe Teddy could start out snarling up something destroying or poisoning land that in some way makes them feel that Viktor’s involved; but then actually confronting each other or just sending that message spawns a conversation about industry and a realization that no, they’re on the same side in this instance and working together for a bit.

But there’s also argument or at least debate: Can technology and New Magic overcome those systemic problems or will they always be turned back toward them and is it better to encourage community, respect for nature, humbleness? // Is encouraging balance and harmony even plausible or is improving the agency and power of individuals the best way to fight systems?

Annnyway this is just me spitballing and I don’t know if you’ll like this idea at all. But I sort of love them having the same things they oppose from (at least in the AU) opposite angles. And I think it could kick off more reasonable and interesting CR when they wake up and aren’t both uh, gods, lol.

(Total, total side note: idk if you read the Locked Tomb books at all, but if you do: I play Cam in another RP and Victor’s lack of self-preservation really makes me want to throw her in here to be like STOP WORKING AND EAT A THING lol. Someday maybe.)

i am ALL ABOUT these kinds of debates; I think the two of them could be really interesting because of these different opinions about how to get the same result. I will say that for the purposes of the AU Viktor is kind of going to trend towards zealotry with regards to this, so if you want Teddy to have shown up at his place to yell at him and use that as a relationship springboard/opportunity for him to explain himself I would be down!

I imagine they could be occasional collaborators and also occasionally have their disagreements! Viktor likes healthy scientific debate at least so he won't grudge or otherwise toss them out unless they get super personal.

Then we can see where they go outside of the AU! I'm super excited!

And awesome! Teddy's also very much into analysis and debate and they try to not be personal, even if they're passionate about something, because it doesn't really serve a purpose. Plus, I feel like a lot of my other AU relationships so far have been founded on they would get along and I like the idea that -- maybe at heart they would, but also, that's not why they meet at all.

I do think they both do seem like the type to put quibbles aside in collaborating on something bigger, as long as their part of it isn't getting taken over. Like, I can do my thing perfectly here, but I need a tech guy / someone to work with the environment (/whatever) to make sure this other stuff doesn't go sideways

love a good collaboration esp if they don't really see eye-to-eye but are willing to suck it up and work together anyway. he likes to help! Teddy can call on him at any time 8))
