Welcome to three new cities! Now that your characters have access to new places, we wanted to give you all the information you need to start shaping the world of Abraxas. Each of these pages contains a basic outline of each city's setting and important people. Some of these people will be available for NPC interaction on the IC posts for each city.

YOUR NEW FACTION

We know you may have questions about what a new faction means for your characters. Don't worry — we have written a guide to help you explore your options.

We would again like to stress that this world is yours to mold! We encourage you to do things like name the shops and create the NPCs that work in them! Dream up the things held in the museums. Decide what styles of clothing and food can be found. Anything you can think of! All we ask is that you keep the general setting and attitude of each locale intact. If you find yourself truly stumped as to whether something is allowed, please ask us.

NPC INTERACTION

For each new city post, we are offering NPC interactions! The available options are

At Castle Thorne, Jolene Sybell will be conducting the interrogations (with assistance from some angry guards). All characters will be interrogated, but the actual thread is optional. If your character wouldn't have much to say and isn't willing to flip on the others, they will be released without much hassle.

Due to mod availability, please take into consideration how your character would receive being interrogated before requesting an NPC thread. Handwaving is perfectly acceptable!

We will be accepting NPC threads until Friday, September 3rd at 11:59PM EST. If you have tagged the NPC thread by that time, you will receive a response! And please, remember that your mods are regular humans with full-time jobs, so while we will do everything in our power to tag expeditiously, your patience is appreciated.

THE HORIZON

And just as a note, please remember that characters cannot yet travel between cities, but they are welcome to visit each other in the Horizon! Characters who have not yet been there can be introduced to it via physical touch from a character who has been there and can take them there, and all first timers in the Horizon experience memory loss.

A couple of questions about the Thorne NPC thread:

Kylo has been working with Thornean mages as discussed here, and the mod team had offered me suggestions for involvement which appeared to have an upcoming trigger point that seems in conflict with the way all characters remaining in Thorne are being treated. Should I go ahead and tag Jolene, or is there something else in the works?

If the plan is to have these things develop from that thread, could you let me know if Jolene had already been involved in Kylo's work?

Kylo is one of the welcomed guests who, upon interrogation, will find that this is really just a routine questioning of everyone who was not frozen. For characters that Thorne has deemed particularly trustworthy, it's just a polite meeting to take notes. Remember, the natives don't know what happened during that period, so they're just trying to get answers.

While we don't want to force you to tag Jolene, we strongly suggest it for Kylo. We plan to offer Kylo the task force during their conversation. However, you can handwave the thread if you need to! And no, Jolene has not been specifically been involved with Kylo's work. She is simply the highest-ranking of the apprentice mages, and thus has been tasked with interrogations, but she has been given notes and instructions regarding certain individuals. This is also a test for her from Ambrose :x

These interrogations/check-ins are written as taking place in the dungeon, which previously was described as being protected with some kind of dampening field that limited access to powers/abilities (which was fairly unpleasant for Kylo, akin to having his sense of sight/hearing removed). Is this effect still in operation down there?

The effect is still in place but significantly weakened by Elizabeth's power surge. It's basically just strong enough to keep prisoners from breaking out on their own, at this point. We are fine with Kylo not having to experience this effect at the moment, but he will eventually experience it again once Thorne has restored its wards properly.

Fabulous, thanks! I'm not really worried about avoiding the effect so much as I wanted to know how miserable Kylo would likely be down there, so this is great 8D
