State of the Game

February - March (2022)

Welcome to our State of the Game! Here, you can read about what might be going on in the world around Abraxas and with the characters in it. Every AC period, you can report what your character has been up to and we'll include all relevant information in the next newsletter.

We encourage you to use the information here to springboard new CR or plots if you're so inclined. Finally, please remember that our World Building page is always open for submissions. New creatures are constantly being added to the Bestiary for you to play with!

World Events

Peace Summit | LINK
After the events of the Dimming and the delegation to Solvunn, all three nations decided to join together in a show of peace by hosting a Summit near the end of February. Filled with displays meant to quietly woo the Summoned over to their side, the Summit featured speeches, prizes, and a runaway criminal. All Summoned were granted the chance to change factions.

Eclipse | LINK
On the 13th of March, a solar eclipse arrives in Abraxas without warning, following a flash of activity over the Singularity. Sometimes known as the Singularity's Eye, this particular eclipse lasts for an unusual length of time - a full 24 hours before the darkness fades. No one was hurt, but several characters were out and about assisting including but not limited to: Dean Winchester, Sam Wilson, Geralt of Rivia, Ciri, Sephiroth, Hythlodaeus, Yennefer of Vengerberg, Thancred Waters, Byleth Eisner, Sasarai, Jesper Fahey, Hendrik

Some characters may have experienced an unusual hiccup in their magic or temperament, due to a mishap involving Ronan Lynch and the Singularity - though that this is the cause is not widely known. The Singularity soon sorted itself out, but for approximately 2 weeks mid-March, a variety of effects from irritability to uncontrolled bursts of magic may have affected some of the Summoned.

Ambrose Rhett
Concerned about what dangers the Singularity might have due to its connection to multiple realms, Stephen Strange approached the High Mage to discuss the matter and was allowed to see one of Thorne's magic labs. He was assigned a task to place devices throughout Thorne to monitor the Singularity's activity.

Quilleth Kaur
Having thrown a charity concert for the people of Cadens, Jaskier is greeted after the show by the patron of the arts herself, Quilleth Kaur, who personally congratulates him on the successful event. This is Quilleth's first introduction to one of the Summoned.

At the end of March, Jaskier held a charity concert at the Old Public Hall currently being restored, with everyone in Cadens being invited. He has also opened a flower stand in the Cadens market square and often has a domesticated miniature gryphon keeping him company. Characters who may have been seen assisting during the concert in some notable way (selling items for donation, providing food, or setting up the stage) include: Sam Wilson, Rinwell, Geralt of Rivia, Ciri, Nadine Cross, Julie Lawry

Goro, Samus Aran
Carrying a strange invention, Goro and Samus are tasked with bringing the casket and the device somewhere out into the desert. While the precise nature of what they're doing is unknown, they may have been seen traveling with these items.

Alucard continues to work on restoring the Old Public Hall in Cadens. It is progressing along steadily.
