There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game, which means that players are free to introduce their characters however they would like.

Upcoming modplot will be announced on the OOC community and signal boosted on Plurk! Event #7's OOC plotting post is scheduled for the 13th of this month, while the IC event post itself is scheduled to go up on the 16th. Stay tuned! Characters might discover there's something to the Singularity's Eye after all...

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Mass Effect is a bioware morality rpg based in space wherupon you are given the opportunity to play through the role of Commander Shepard as they attempt to save the galaxy from robot cthulus. During this time you have the opportunity to choose your place along the spectrum between Space Captain America, who is brave and righteous and always finds a way to save the day without selling their soul...and Space John McClane, who shoots first and don't take no shit, and who always gets their man.

I have chosen to play as the latter: a mean lady who doesn't afraid and who's emotions, if she were to be believed, are comprised entirely of rock music and explosions.

CR YOU WANT: Before you set forth upon your quest, an adventuring party you firm must seek. But all notion of long-term teambuilding aside, it'd be cool to just gather allies, get into scraps, and settle into some neat future CR opportunities.

Listen, it's just that the characters are all fictional, but my annoyance is very real, so they had best watch out they don't arouse it.

As we've discussed, let's keep TDM canon! She can visit him any time. He could have told her about the inn people are allowed to stay in as Summoned if you want to have her somewhere too, that's up to you.

oh man, I loved Andromeda, I can't wait to get CR with Ryder.

ANYWAY, I honestly don't know where Shepard is going to fall where Goro's plans are concerned since she's Renegade, but I suuuuuuper want to bounce these two off each other. I feel like it might go either way here, and I wanna find out. XD

It's hard to know, honestly. On one hand, she's pretty much the definition of "works for the powers that be" even if rarely in a way that those powers would prefer. Shepard is very much a proponent of governmental power in general, whatever else is true in specific— but at the same time...

...Like the Citadel Council before them, not one of these regional powers have done a damn thing to offer her a real reason to side with them, or done much to earn her not-inconsiderable loyalty. Even the best first impression any of them can make is pretty abysmal. She could be convinced to rebel, depending on the exact pitch.

It really does depend on how it goes! I always figured that the worst case scenario was that she forms up a cool gang and goes Full Privateer, but there's not a lot to recommend her to the situation at large with any sense of satisfaction. Maybe Goro can change that assessment.

Emet-Selch would absolutely be down to compare notes on how worlds work, though given that he's in Solvunn it'd likely have to be either in the Horizon or via the network!

Also I'm absolutely thrilled to see some Mass Effect characters around, even if I fell down super hard at tagging around on the TDM.

the network is going to take some getting used to, for shepard.

on one hand, she's casually familiar with the way that networked communications function. on the other hand that's a visual hallucination sir, and she has a number of personal issues with visual hallucinations.

that said, i have no idea what your character is like, but i do know that it would be fun to write her being rude to him, as she is to everyone

To be fair, Emet is like... rude in a polite way, if that makes sense. But the super condensed nutshell is "ancient immortal sorcerer who has been destroying worlds to bring his own back". Although he doesn't tend to drop the destroying worlds thing on people without good reason or a lot of probing. Mostly, he tends to come across as kind of snarky, very Tired, and disinclined to give anything like a complete answer.

have you considered someone who will think she's cool and hot and write songs about her and her deliberately murdering a lot of people would not actually change their CR much

Renegade Shepard is on record as enjoying it when people talk her up, and this seems like it's within Jaskier's skillset.....and... Jaskier wouldn't it be nice if the mean people you fall in with..... actually appreciated you, for once?

jaskier finds his appreciation in........ hopeless places..... but it's fine he WOULD love having a renegade murderer appreciate him. He'll make sure her ballads are extra good and maybe even have good rhyme schemes

Let's share notes. Jasper here deliberately murdered a whooooole bunch of people. She isn't alone!

Regardless, hello! I'm Lisa and Mass Effect is one of my fave things. I've got Jasper here from Dragon Quest XI and he basically sold his soul and betrayed humanity [and murdered a bunch of people as a result] to a dark lord who had groomed him whilst wearing his adoptive father like a skinsuit. Would love to see him develop as part of a team since he's pretty much found connecting with others to be a main issue. He also comes from a medieval world so explain how spaceships work pls.

Listen, even by Shepard's standards that's a pretty weird Dad Issue, but as you may be aware, it's not the first time somebody has had weird dad issues at her.

What I know about Dragon Quest is that Japan is very into it, and that there was some character designs done by the guy who did dragonball stuff also. That's not a lot, I understand, but it's always good to learn new things and lord knows Shepard loves a long conversation where you tell her about your home culture and tragic backstory.

So if we can just contrive a way to get them talking, with a bent towards maybe joining a team and/or acquiring a mission, then this could be great.

Missions might be ways off since Jasper is in Thorne BUT I'm sure we can figure something out. This upcoming event might be a good starter? Jasper does have an open network post if Shep feels like getting her Renegade on?
