Mod Communications
If you have an idea related to the event plot, communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Randomization Request
Request a mod dice roll at any time for outcomes and consequences. Some actions require a dice roll to proceed, such as attacking an acolyte NPC or attempting to break anything major in the environment (chains, doors, walls). If you aren't sure, you can check with us.

IC Exchanges
Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.
Start an IC exchange
Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Investigations
Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.
Interact with an Investigation
UNKNOWN STRANGER
no subject
Character Name: Laura Hawley
Other characters involved: n/a
Action: Once Laura notices that the stranger seems frightened she'll approach him with a view of attempting comfort. She'll ask general get-to-know type questions to get him talking more than anything, 'what's your name' 'tell me about your family' 'where were you before this' type inquiries, and will be willing to share little bits about herself in return if he asks anything in return. Her approach is largely about helping, information gleaned will be appreciated but not her primary focus.
Thread: Her general post-ascension demeanour is covered towards the end here, but she'll approach alone so there isn't a relevant thread yet!
Notes: Laura would have had violent outbursts during the worst of the ascension symptoms if that would affect the stranger's perception of her, though by the time she approaches those will have passed and she will remain gentle and friendly even if their interaction doesn't go well.

Character Name: Jack Townsend
Other characters involved: None, yet!
Action: Jack's going to try to step up and help people stay calm considering he's extremely used to crazy ass shit hitting the fan. When he sees the stranger, it won't occur to him that the guy is new, he'll just see that the guy is scared. He'll approach holding a conjured solo cup of some pretty gross Four Lokos-inspired beverage, one of the only (extremely useless) things he's managed to create with his powers since he arrived. He intends to offer it over as a gesture of comfort.
Thread: None yet, as he'll be approaching the stranger alone!
Notes: Most specifically, I was wondering if his flickering and inconsistent powers would pick anything up from the guy on accident? Either his Aura of TMI to compel the guy to start rambling about something he might not want to talk about, or a flash of a memory Jack can absorb!

He will tell Jack out of nowhere of an embarrassing childhood story involving a ferocious duck that chased him into the swamp and trapped him there by preventing him from leaving. He explains that his sister had to come rescue him. He admits quietly that she has often been there for him and that he would like the chance to return the favor. It is unclear if he means he wishes to return home so that he can see her again or something else. However, Jack may notice that the stranger frequently watches the Mysterious Acolyte when she appears.

Jack will agree solemnly that ducks and geese are fucking horrifying, then ask the probably obvious clarification question of "Is that your sister?"

Jack may choose to believe the stranger or not. If he chooses to take the Mysterious Acolyte during their escape, he might need to convince some of the other characters if they mistrust her since she'll be difficult to disguise or hide. Despite the stranger's request, Jack can involve other characters he trusts with this secret in an effort to help, or he may betray the stranger if he wishes.
no subject
He'll ask the stranger if they know of any way out, or anything that might help him get her out.
no subject
He answers that although he was not allowed to leave like some of the others, the Acolytes have a sealed opening hidden behind one of the walls. Jack may realize this to be true if he can see the cracked wall that a small group has been investigating. They've currently managed to create an opening to see inside.

Jack will give his own name in return, and will be rallying the following folks to help make sure Esmond's sister escapes: Inej, Claude, Sylvain, Gideon, Istredd, and Nero.
If there's a similar style quick exchange or the like in part 2 I'll be posting an open top level in there for folks to squabble but ultimately Jack will be fulfilling his promise and getting her out.
Thanks, fellas.
