Randomization Request

IC Exchanges

Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Investigations

Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

They will continue to give her offerings even if they are keeping some for the group, to try and lure her in close. Not for any dangerous reasons. When she decides to stop and allow them an option for a question, Istredd will ask her if the mushrooms and plants in this place are safe for everyone to eat. And if there are locations she'd recommend scavaging for the ones that are. He is a quiet and gentle person so not intimidating at all.

Her answer will be to show him two of the mushrooms that are indeed edible. If Istredd has spoken to or will later ask another Summoned who has the same knowledge, they can confirm that she's telling the truth.

She'll remain with them for enough time to answer another one or two questions if they have them.

Istredd will thank her for her kindness as they're struggling down here. He then asks her about the shrines and what she knows about them. If she knows who the shrine is to and what they do.

She tells him that like all shrines, they require an offering that the shrine would approve of. After this, she will depart. They may attempt to approach her again when she travels alone following the ritual if they want.

Istredd will find her again following the ritual, being one of the few Summoned who wasn't taken. Instead he's had to watch the others act severely different, sometimes argue and fight, and start becoming less human with blood and lesions. He has tried to keep the peace where possible, but his fear is starting to turn to desperation.

When he approaches her he will look genuinely distraught, dirty and bruised, large circles under his eyes, he doesn't look as bad as the others, but he feels pretty bad. He will go to his knees before her now that she is alone, a few of her mushrooms she likes offered in shaking hands.

He will plead with her for help and that he's worried about his friends being sick. He'll ask again who the shrines are to and if praying to them will do anything.

She seems sympathetic and tells him her name is Hydnellia. She says him she believes his friends will survive, but she doesn't know what they will see when they go through the ascension or what will happen to them then. The Summoned are different. She adds that the shrines will help them, but that they must understand that help comes with a cost.

She then returns the offerings to him. As she does, he will find that she has slipped him one of her charms.
