IC Exchanges

Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Investigations

Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

1. The tracker will give off a signal. It'll be disrupted often and quite weak while she is the only one carrying the tracker. Its signal my be improved with additional trackers or an enhanced version of it. However, Viktor will be able to pinpoint that the signal is coming somewhere north of Cadens. The precise direction and distance is uncertain, but he'll know that she's not on the southernmost areas of the map.

2. During and after the ritual, the tracker will not be noticed immediately, but it will begin to show under her skin when lesions form as if her body is rejecting the implant. She can attempt to hide it by acting first and digging it out of herself before they see it or the growths render the tracker useless.

3. Should Ciri attempt to portal out, she'll find herself trapped in one of the options of your choosing:
- The organic plant traps that she woke up in
- Inside a constricting and narrow tunnel that will require a lot of effort to pull her back out

If she attempts to take someone with her, that person can be trapped instead of her while Ciri lands somewhere randomly in the pit.

4. Though it will not be obvious, they'll notice that she has an unusual connection to the Singularity and will keep a close eye on her following the ritual. Following her ascension, unlike the other Summoned, Ciri will have the vision come to her multiple times in her sleep similar to her prophetic dreams.

5. Because the tool is only an inch long, it'll be overlooked particularly if she wears it under her shirt.

Another question occurred to me, hope you don't mind--

One of Ciri's powers in canon as a Source of magic is that she can release a huge burst of raw power with a scream. It's shown at its most potent when she's distraught. I realized that she's going to be, uh. probably screaming a lot during the ritual and in considerable distress.

If her power would be completely dampened, that's fine! I just wanted to ask just in case if she can do a Big Scream and see what happens. :)

You can choose one of two options for Ciri:
1. Her scream will have a minimal effect. It'll cause the ground around her immediate area to tremble and the bowl to shatter, but no further. The Acolytes will not react strongly to this.

2. Her scream will have a large effect due to her distress, much more so than had she used it deliberately. It will shake the pit beyond the altar room. Outside, one of the shrines not yet investigated will crack, revealing the contents inside should anyone take a look later or if you would like to investigate it afterwards. The Acolytes will act quickly, and will seal her mouth with magic to prevent further destruction. This can be painful or painless depending on what you prefer. It will appear to be thin fibrous thread weaving through her lips, which will dissolve once the ritual is over and she's returned to the pit.

follow up question about the tracker! Ciri will end up digging it out of her arm, and in an effort to hide it, she'll try to hide it in Nero's tail (with Nero's permission) since its scaly and spiky. Even if his body tries to shove it out too, it'll be better hidden amongst the spikes than sticking out of her arm (or that's the idea, on their side).

Can it remain in his tail? Will they have to keep shoving it in there lol

Also will the signal keep working?

Thank you for the links! Unfortunately, they will need to keep pushing it back in there, but it will remain hidden better underneath the spikes even if it were to emerge.

It won't entirely disrupt the signal, however as a result of the thick plating the signal will go in and out, and may take more effort to "catch" by the receiver. Additional calibration may also be necessary by the Spared.

hello! follow up question to #4 due to some stuff that's happened

Caitlyn was able to successfully cure Ciri of the ritual's symptoms.

Would Ciri continue to have the visions, or would they stop (or change?) after she's cured?

Once cured, she will no longer experience the visions and her psychological symptoms will be among the first effects to fade. Physical injuries will need time to heal.
