Mod Communications
If you have an idea related to the event plot, communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Randomization Request
Request a mod dice roll at any time for outcomes and consequences. Some actions require a dice roll to proceed, such as attacking an acolyte NPC or attempting to break anything major in the environment (chains, doors, walls). If you aren't sure, you can check with us.

Notable Actions

IC Exchanges
Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.
Start an IC exchange
Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Investigations
Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

2. Crossing the lake from Nott to the Singularity shore will take an average of one day each way. Smaller boats may take longer. Soldiers and guards would be stationed around the lake, and the group will have a guard of their own for protection.
3. The shoreline is indeed the edge of Thorne's territory.
While Thorne would be hesitant to let them go far, they can travel about halfway across the lake and stop roughly in the middle of it. From here, they can overhear fishermen whisper about something in the waters stealing their catch.
If you wish, Lucifer or his companions may bribe a fisherman to go further. It'll require a large bribe, but fishermen in Nott are desperate and it would be possible to bluff a bribe. They can watch the fisherman travel across the lake. Along his journey, the thin ice will crack and a large tentacled creature full of teeth will attack. The fisherman will be eaten alive in a gory scene.
While it's distracted with its meal, the group might want to take advantage and leave before it gives chase.
Asking local experts will reveal this creature is a dosarak which hails from deep in the ocean. The creature being found in a freshwater lake is unprecedented. Since the waters are not its natural habitat, the creature will perish eventually on its own.

Lucifer: "she's young, energetic -"
Robin: *going to fucking cut you*
Lucifer: *locks an arm around her neck* "great arcana, if you're about the right match"
He'd offer a second option to give the poor man a choice of what speaks to him more, pointing at Kol:
"That right there is a man that screams decadence, with funds to back it if it's coin you're after. We can settle the price afterwards, with hazard pay, of course."
- A followup question for around town is if they've had this problem for a bit now, or if it's recent (within the last week or so). In an effort to find out if this is an unrelated problem they stumbled upon, or perhaps a temporary solution to block/hide something.

Any fisherman they pick will want some proof of gold or silver. Wine, butter, or sugar will suffice, as well, since they're valuable staples for the fishermen. They can choose to pay him a small amount as a gesture of good faith, and promise him the rest.
Asking about the odd phenomenon, they'll discover that it's only occurred within the last 2-3 weeks.

Whether or not that appeases the man they will still find another fisherman. Kol will do the talking--he’ll have a bit of coin on him to bribe him with, for the "half now, half later" good faith promise.
Lucifer will also be trying to judge their Thorne guard during all of this for Putting Up With Them
putting up with Lucifer. If he looks as though he needs some appeasement of some kind, Lucifer will give him some coin, if only for the extra time spent.no subject
The guard seems exasperated, but babysitting the group is his job so he won't complain. When the monster rises out of the depths, he will immediately turn them back around to safety. The monster is the final straw. He refuses to take them anywhere else but back to the castle. They'll need to appeal for another investigation and another guard if they want to continue searching somewhere else.

This inspired by Jaskier asking if they heard a loud, ear-splitting scream or something of the sort.

Should the group travel to Borrel to consult with marine experts located in the city, they'll be told that the Dosarak is not known to make any noise of that nature. Like most cephalopods the creature is a silent underwater hunter. This suggests the creature may have simply entered the lake due to disturbances around its ocean home, but is not located near where the Lost are held.
They can confirm this information with marine experts located in Aquila if they reach out to the Spared in the Free Cities to do a similar consultation.
