Mod Communications
If you have an idea related to the event plot, communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Randomization Request
Request a mod dice roll at any time for outcomes and consequences. Some actions require a dice roll to proceed, such as attacking an acolyte NPC or attempting to break anything major in the environment (chains, doors, walls). If you aren't sure, you can check with us.

Notable Actions
Submit notable actions that are likely to gain attention from other players, such as fights or disturbances.

IC Exchanges
Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.
Start an IC exchange
Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Investigations
Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

Late Week 1 -- sigil goop potentially located
Lady Alicent's horse did not return after she was taken, but we found the mare in the woods, not much worse for wear. Those who stole her did not open the saddlebags -- they seem to have stolen nothing but people.
We found something else -- a jar of some strange black substance. It might be some manner of unguent. It is not wildfire, nor anything I have seen, nor anything the lady Galadriel knows, either.
The strange thing is that we found it in the bough of a tree, not dropped on the ground, nor in any kind of mouth or knot. If it has anything to do with the people who have been taking us, I think it might be that they waited in the trees for some of us to pass.
If you are of Thorne, and want to see the jar, find me. I will be in our common rooms when I am in the castle. I am a man of four and twenty with dark hair to my shoulders. Elsewise, if no one has a wish to see it, I will set a castle mage to it soon.
[OOC: See here! This stands a pretty good chance of being the sigil paint. It's possible that a few days pass before anyone can put two and two together.]
this would be before he found his clue, so feel free to assume he comes back later with that info!
[ The man asking the obvious question with a dubious expression is tall with dark hair. Jon may know him as Kyle, a Summoned who works as a courier for Castle Thorne. ]

Aye. But we haven't touched what's in it. The smell is foul enough that it might be something used in healing.
[The half-shrug of a moment ago, and the dubious look -- something about the jar discomfits him. He holds it out in the palm of his hand.]
See for yourself.

It smells like... moldy tea.
[ He doesn't have superhumans senses unfortunately, just overly sensitive ones. ]

Taking one sniff of it, Lenore turns her head and coughs, grimacing at the stench of it. She makes herself try again, trying to recognize anything beneath the overwhelming herbal stench.]
There's blood in it. [She hands the jar back, glad to be rid of it.] Not much, and I can't be certain of what kind. Ugh, that was awful. I don't recognize the herbal components. I'm no herbalist. [Though it's not hard to guess what she is, with her red eyes, pointed ears, and long slim fangs like a viper.]
so, there is no known vampire lore in Jon's canon 😈
[He gives his head a hard shake. The fact that Elrond is not here is part of why he has been searching.
That blood magic may be involved makes things seem worse, and Jon's expression becomes accordingly grim.]
Blood, though... how can you tell?
[Lenore is pretty, and unusual-looking, but not much more so than Melisandre was back at home, and not nearly so much as Jack Skellington here.]

[She's learned, by now, that the Summoned come from different worlds, different times, and include different species, so she isn't too surprised that he doesn't make the connection that most people do upon sight of her.] Not dissimilar to the vampires of this world. So I'm attuned to the scent of blood.

Might be wise to see if we can replicate it. Yennefer, if she's not busy. Mildred at the Winking Cauldron may be able to help otherwise.
It may just be what they had 'on hand' to make the substance with, and not ahhh... necessary for a spell. [What? Blood is certainly 'on hand' plenty.] But if there is a use that we can repurpose, we don't want to run out while we test it.
SUMMARY -- later in week 2
Taking the goo to Millie at the Winking Cauldron revealed that she could not reverse engineer it to replicate it, as Lucifer suggested, but she could tell that the blood in it is most likely human blood, and the herbs are not local.
Jon circulated this information. (well, this is him circulating it.)
As to the remaining goo itself, while Jon and Galadriel are willing to let anyone who wants take a look at it, they both want to hold on to it in the hopes that, if they are able to rescue Elrond, he can get a look at it, too.]
