Mod Communications
If you have an idea related to the event plot, communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Randomization Request
Request a mod dice roll at any time for outcomes and consequences. Some actions require a dice roll to proceed, such as attacking an acolyte NPC or attempting to break anything major in the environment (chains, doors, walls). If you aren't sure, you can check with us.

IC Exchanges
Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.
Start an IC exchange
Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Investigations
Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

Character Name: Viktor
Other characters involved: Jayce, Stephen Strange, Sam Wilson
Action: Throughout Part 1, Viktor has been working to improve his initial tracking system, planted on Ciri (+ ooc notes) and Blake. After reaching out to the Academy, he has been given government money to make the necessary improvements. This includes improving the signal strength of the device, as well as linking the system to Jayce’s improved surveillance birds, to further boost the range, with the braerium-enhanced birds acting as a relay (+ additional discussion with Jayce about the plan).
Meanwhile, Viktor has enlisted other Summoned to take a receiver and record location data from other parts of the continent. With information from Dean and Jesper in Aquila, Jaskier in Nocwich and Libertas, and Stephen Strange and Yennifer in Thorne (plus pending data from the Solvunn field trip), Viktor is fairly confident in the general location, but since it’s still a large area of land to cover, he’s hoping to narrow it down further.
To accomplish this, Jayce reaches out to Stephen Strange, both for any location data from Thorne and to potentially collaborate. Following this conversation, Stephen will request a portal from Ambrose to allow him to meet Viktor and Jayce on the Free Cities border. Since the latter need a level 6 Summoned to accompany them, Sam Wilson will also make the trip. Together, the four of them will get as close as they can to where they believe the signal is originating and use the improved tracking/surveillance system in conjunction with Strange’s locating magic to further enhance the tracking ability of the birds and pinpoint exactly where the Lost are being kept.
Thread: No IC thread yet, we can follow up with a link if the plan is approved!
Notes: I think I grabbed all the relevant links, but if you need more of an IC paper trail, just let me know!

Using their combined resources, they'll be able to confirm Viktor's suspicions about where the Lost are held. However, the birds circling the island will not be able to detect anyone coming or going. The island appears untouched.
Although they have a location, they'll still need to determine how to reach the island without raising the alarm, how many Acolytes are there, and if there are any defensive measures they must contend with. Considering Josselyn's involvement, there may be others in Solvunn who can assist by continuing to investigate her warded room and the corruption in the woods. The Spared can also try to reach out to the Lost to see if they can obtain any new information despite the difficulties in communication.
This investigation can carry over into Part 2, where the Spared can begin to pool resources and what they've learned to enact a plan.
Since Nocwich was recently secured to serve as a neutral meeting location, along with an additional supply of braerium for the Free Cities, they may factor these developments into any future plans if they wish.

1. How big is the island/how far is it from shore? Is that something they could discern (with data from the birds, Viktor doing some math that I don't actually understand, flyover as described below)?
2. Sam, equipped with his wings and magnifying glasses (borrowed from Jesper for the excursion) will do a flyover of the island in order to gain as much recon information as they can. Stephen will use a spell to make him invisible for this. Would he be able to see anything (acolytes on shore, any extra info or movement or defensive measures on the island, etc.)?
3. Provided they're not too far away, Stephen will also try to detect any magic in the general vicinity, with a particular focus on determining whether the island has any magic defenses.
4. If and when they report this to the Thorne/FC govts, would it be possible to secure a boat? This can definitely wait for part 2 investigations, if necessary.
Currently the plan is to thread the excursion and also slide in a network post so that the game at large can collaborate on the actual game plan for rescue!

2. Standard visuals from someone without any magical ability will not reveal anything at first glance. However, if he watches for a longer period, he might notice that sometimes the trees move location or small wildlife might vanish unexpectedly, as if passing through an invisible door.
3. Stephen will detect magic in the vicinity. It appears to be a combination of many types of magic, but defensive measures would be one. He may need additional help to figure out how to deal with those enchantments, but this would be best followed up in Part 2.
4. This would also be best done in Part 2, but generally speaking they'd be provided with the resources they need to breach the island.
