Mod Communications
If you have an idea related to the event plot, communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Randomization Request
Request a mod dice roll at any time for outcomes and consequences. Some actions require a dice roll to proceed, such as attacking an acolyte NPC or attempting to break anything major in the environment (chains, doors, walls). If you aren't sure, you can check with us.

IC Exchanges
Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.
Start an IC exchange
Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Investigations
Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

Lenore and Rhy both want to be careful and increase their chances of hopefully not getting kidnapped too, so at this point, before venturing into the woods, Rhy will ask for help from the Nott city guard if a couple wouldn't mind accompanying him and Lenore. He'll give context that they're following up on leads regarding the taken and have reason to believe this may be a site where the kidnappers were using magic.
Rhy knows that the people in Nott are a lot more likely to practice Wild Magic, and that most of the investigations around Thorne are going to center Academic Magic. If there's a chance that the guards know someone magically inclined in Nott, Rhy will ask them if they can recommend someone or introduce him. He will admit he's looking for avenues that may have been missed by the castle's mages helping investigate, due to their different approach to magic. Not throwing anyone under the bus - just exploring all possible angles.
tl;dr - can Lenore and Rhy take a couple guards to investigate the woods + find someone good at Wild Magic in Nott willing to talk to them?

Lenore may further smell trace amounts of blood, though the blood would not be visible to the human eye.
With a bit of coin, they can find a mage who's willing to speak to them. He has a disfigured eye and operates a business that's somewhat under the table.
He'll explain that most people in Nott use Wild Magic for low level magic such as household chores and day-to-day activities. For larger spells such as what's being observed here, Wild Magic is unlikely to be a source as the amount of power it would take is too great to perform safely. There's currently no one he's heard of who could maintain this type of magic using Wild Magic. It would either fail or the attempt would cause undue destruction to both the user and their surroundings. Therefore, the type of magic used, if not Academic Magic or New Magic, must be High Magic.
He adds that if Rhy wants help from one of his own, there was a pink-haired Summoned lass who possessed a noticeably powerful ability with Wild Magic, though he believes she also lacks the control to do any magic of this type on a large scale. She lived in Nott many months ago and hasn't been seen since. He bids her "good riddance," claiming she destroyed his window. He tells Rhy to be careful if he talks to her as she might "blow him to pieces, too."
