This post is for coordination while the event is ongoing, to prevent the IC Event Log from being overrun by OOC mod and player communications. The comments section will contain applicable comments and forms for you to reply to as needed.

Mod Communications / Randomization

If you have something you want to do related to the event plot, you can communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting large resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission to proceed. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Interactions

Several interactions are available. For Part 2, there are fewer mysteries to uncover, but plenty to interact with to see what happens. You can interact with something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Note that interactions might carry IC consequences, though we'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something. To interact, fill out the form, then comment under the corresponding item.

IC Exchanges

Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Request: Ciri and Castiel acquired some explosive powder while exploring the walls. Ciri, Aloy and Gideon also noticed the glowing webbing behind the wall was connected to the boulder. Once the pulsing bulb is revealed and characters realize tearing the vines affects the webbing, Ciri would suggest blowing up the bulb entirely.

This isn't decided icly yet! Since this part of the event is more linear, I want to check with you guys first that this would be okay.

If the bulb should be left alone for narrative reasons, she can simply blow up the wall itself. Thank you!

While mechanically, the characters holding the vines must still remain behind, narratively speaking blowing up the bulb could allow the webbing to hold itself open for a bit longer, allowing some last minute Summoned and native Abraxans to escape. They would be able to see that their actions accomplished this.

Those near the bulb and anyone in the pit escaping after it explodes would be showered with near-invisible spores. These spores may spread as the characters and Acolytes flee into the mountains. This will not have any immediate effects, but it may come become relevant at a future date. They would also be a bit sticky and gooey.

Request: this will be my last question about the trackers I promise.

Ciri is escaping with one, and as soon as Viktor realizes it's on the move, he'll be sending Hilda and Petra (Search team) out with a receiver! Would they be able to track the escaped group in this way? Just want to check on what Viktor might be able to tell the group IC.

Additionally, Blake planted his tracker on an acolyte--just wanted to check on the potential whereabouts of that if it's relevant.

[She calls over her shoulder before her focus is ripped back to the task of keeping their escape route open. So maybe she's kinda indisposed; she's still ready to back this random dude up if he needs it.]

Action: Cas and Jayden are inspecting the altar, Cas is checking out the mouth in particular, shining his light power in there to see how far it goes/what's going on inside. he also tosses a stone in to see what it hits. he's running hands over it, looking for cracks, crevices, indentations, anything that might give under pressure. and of course, giving it a sniff.

The Holdout Crew; OTA

[ Istredd has managed to wrap up his injury from the escape enough to get through it and while he's leaning heavily on one side, blood mixed in with the mud and everything else on his clothing, he is able to somewhat stand. He speaks very quietly, and they're in a small room so it's as private as it can be.]

We should talk about the acolyte who says she's willing to help us get out.

[ He glances over at Castiel since it was something he said first, but he eventually gives up and sits down, wincing as he does, because he doesn't need to stand for this anyway. Istredd looks around at the others.]

I can't use my telepathy that much but I don't think she's the only one who may be having second thoughts. I think we can use it.

Unfortunately, something has disrupted the signal. It may be the exploding bulb from inside the cave, the cold and altitude from the mountains, or a combination. However, this doesn't mean the tracker is useless. Should the Search Team come fairly close, approximately a 1 mile radius, they will be able to catch a signal to help them locate the individuals towards a precise location.

The whereabouts of the Acolyte is on the mountains, though the tracker will experience the same interference. Similar to above, once the receiver is within a 1 mile radius it'll point towards what appears to be a few Abraxan natives, either with some of the Summoned or by themselves. If the characters approaching this group are unaware that one of the trackers was planted on an Acolyte or they are not carrying a receiver at the time, they may not realize the truth, which is that one of the Acolytes is hiding among the survivors.

As well, it is possible for the receiver to catch the signal once everyone has returned to Nocwich should Viktor or another character happen to be holding it. The tracker can be discovered on the mountain, afterwards when the native NPCs are rescued and returned to Nocwich, or simply never. This will depend on what characters choose to do and how suspicious they are of the circumstances.

You can coordinate with other players and use this information to determine how you'd like things to unfold.

[Jayden also keeps his voice down, though that's as much because he doesn't have the energy to raise it as it is to avoid being potentially overheard.]

I don't think we've got much to lose. She doesn't have much reason to be tryin' to make a deal unless she genuinely needs our help.

[After all, the Acolytes have basically all the power here. It seems pointless to be offering a fake deal to let them out when they could presumably just open the door at any time, so it makes more sense for the offer to be genuine. Whether or not that means they should uphold it, or if they might be able to use any doubts the other Acolytes might be having to their advantage, remains to be seen but at this point they're running out of options.]

[ Steve's also sporting some injuries beyond the lesions that now plague most of them (a dark bruise his temple and a scratch on his neck), but he seems decently levelheaded despite the ritual's effects. He has Istredd to thank for that. All the same, he's looking rough; exhausted, more than anything, because sleep is near to impossible in this situation. Especially now. ]

We've plugged up the holes for now, but water's still getting through. I don't think we have the luxury of turning her down. If it gets us out of this room...

[ Well, it's a chance worth taking in his opinion. ]

Cracking open and revealing a portal covered in webbing... It gives us something to look for, mayhaps. And those portals have to connect somewhere, right? Unless they were using are remote area in the mountains for all their travel.

Ah... I guess it's not surprising with the frantic messages that we were able to get. That things would escalate the longer they were there... If they were really eager to facilitate this relationship to the gods. Or a god.

Just happened? I hope that means he's safe enough in the world. But that does make me wonder if it was an automatic reaction to feeling safe if for a moment. Has that happened before?

My guess would be some kind of network of portals. Bounce around a bunch of places until they hit this mountain portal, which takes them to the underground pit or whatever. That's what I'd do if I was trying to hide my tracks. Make them hard to follow. But the portals are probably shut down now, since some people made it out.

He told me he's with people that I know for a fact can keep him safe out there. So maybe he just finally relaxed so much he slipped into the Horizon. I don't know if anyone's ever come here on accident before, but there's a first time for everything.

I'm not sure what she'd get out of fooling us at this point either. More of the same?

[ Istredd nods to Jayden and to Steve. They're on the same page. They don't have time to waste anymore. While he'd really like to tear apart most of them, making deals at this point seems the least of their problems.]

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are starting to realize helping us might be their only way out of this.

Dissenting Acolytes

Action: They are going to take the diplomatic route and decide to trust her for now. They want to get out and they'll take any option, especially with the water rising. Istredd will also add to her that if she and anyone else helps them, they will put in a good word for them with this is all over. They can still make the right choice to save lives.

[With a letter from the Free Cities delegate, Sten is already familiar with Alucard by name if not face when the Summoned arrives inside his tent.

As promised, he's glad to be of help, and recounts what he knows of their traditions.]

Broke? Oh, no. Nothing like that! Our friends in Solvunn grew to name and give form to their gods, but we've kept close bonds with each other. I attended their spring solstice just last year.

Now, I must emphasize that these priests- or acolytes- aren't observing Solvunn's beliefs. To chase divinity is what the Solvunn folks would call 'hubris.'

[She'll find Sten hovered over a map with a frown. While guards are around the square, he's disinterested in having any of his own and the Summoned can enter freely.

He looks up and greets her with a warm but tired smile.]

Of course! Please, come in. I'm Sten. And you are...?

[He sits back down behind the desk after the brisk introduction.]

Forgive the lack of formalities. I'm sure you understand. What is it you want to tell me?

After speaking with the other players involved, we've decided that Ciri will actually give the explosive to Team Sacrifice while they're holding the vines to keep the webbing open. ICly the hope is the explosion will give them enough time to escape, but obviously that's not going to happen -- we're just in it for the drama. :)

Water tunnels

[Somewhere along the way, she lost Mat, his hand slipping from hers. She had turned a corner and before she could grasp her surroundings, she was kicking through the water, struggling to surface and choking for air. The surface had seemed elusive, but with enough flailing and grasping, she had finally gripped the sides of the pool and heaved herself up.

The fever left her disoriented and the cold made her frantic. Her clothes were sticking to her, freezing against her raw skin. Twists and turns stretched on endlessly. Finally exhausted, hurting and hardly able to breathe from the cold, Alicent sunk to the ground and curled into herself.

Surely Mat realized she was lost. Someone had to be searching for her. Someone must be coming. Someone.]
