Mod Communications / Randomization

If you have something you want to do related to the event plot, you can communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting large resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission to proceed. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!

Interactions

Several interactions are available. For Part 2, there are fewer mysteries to uncover, but plenty to interact with to see what happens. You can interact with something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Note that interactions might carry IC consequences, though we'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something. To interact, fill out the form, then comment under the corresponding item.

IC Exchanges

Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Request: this is double request/question but both involve ikorr!

first, and this one is another 'basically want to get on the books' comment, but would like to say that yennefer most likely would have contacted ikorr not only for the sap in the first part of the event as mentioned here, but she would have reached out to celeste when nocwich was opened for additional supplies/aid. In the log is already specifies that representatives from Ikorr arrive, so I don't know if that would be the response to her reaching out or something else, but wanted to have it stated all the same! she is looking to help increase the potency/etc of the healing potions that are being prepared and would state as much if asked.

second, she would most likely be very direct in asking the ikorr healers to teach her everything/all they know about the use of the sap in regards to healing so that she can better make use of it. would there be anything additional she would learn? her intention would be to figure out The Cure (which also is already discussed in the log), but also anything else she might pick up!

Nero goes up to Jack, pausing as he digs something out from between the scales of his tail. (It's gross, all right, but it's all he had.) He's not had a chance to use it, and if he stays here, he won't.

He hands over a crystal he got from the altar. From Hydnellia's insistence, even.

Or should he say -- Lorelei?] Take it. Don't know what it does, but something tells me it'll help keep you out of the limelight. Maybe she'll know what it does.

[ Having seen the pulsing, glowing lacework of whatever the fuck that webbing is connected to the boulder while they were investigating the wall, Ciri has come to a very similar conclusion now that the bulbous, disgusting mass has been revealed.

Amidst the commotion, she knows this is their best -- possibly only -- chance to push for escape while their captors are distracted. The dizzyingly enormous, lumbering beast has left the wall crumbling, the webbing nakedly visible. When an opening parts, and Ciri realizes why, she delays her plans to just shove through the webbing with some sort of weapon and instead runs to the group of Summoned pulling at the vines. ]

I have an idea!

[ No time for preamble. Ciri wrestles with the pouches on her belt, yanking free a small, dented metal box that Castiel will find familiar. ]

If this blob is what's holding the web up, destroy it.

I understand how you feel about them. Truly, I do. But please, do not torture them, even if a masked one is captured. I am not asking because I am a pacifist. Far from it. I am asking because I know, rather intimately, what it feels like. And how little of what one will admit is true.

Are you all right? Do you need assistance? [Not that there is much to fear from others in the Horizon, but there is still some element of danger.] I am organizing the tents in Nocwich, but I can come at your beck and call.

To be clear, I planned on said one being turned over to the faction officials to do as they like. If that includes torture, it won't be me that does it.

I'm just saying the rest of them can die.

[ after being all but entirely forced down through the tunnel and out into the cave, steve was fairly quick to turn his attention to the group of them. he wasn't exactly happy about it, but being out of there brought a kind of relief that he was happy to accept. plus, with the rest of the natives in various stages of injured or coping, even with steve's own side effects still hanging heavy over him, having a job does help. so that's what he does, sticking close to the group and working to keep everyone upright.

he's one of the people claude leaves back with the others when he heads to the front of the cave, but when he starts to hear other familiar voices, it's enough to push him (a bit unsteadily) to his feet. he's freezing, beyond freezing, and leaving the fire isn't exactly his ideal state, but he makes his way there all the same, emerging from the cave behind claude and wiping away from of the glitter from his tunic before he comes to an abrupt stop. ]

Geralt? Aloy?

[ and then, realizing they're all in the middle of a conversation and feeling minorly like he's interrupted something, he glances back into the cave, catching sight of louis off to the edge. ] The others inside can pack up pretty quick, but it's going to be hard to convince them to leave the hot spring.

And to be fair to myself, I know no one's intentions outside my own. I only mention it because I know what men, with power and a chip on their shoulder, are capable of.

That is the most optimistic description of his drawing skills I've ever seen. Bless you for attempting to be civil.

I assume I'd be an amateur compared to who the factions will have waiting for them. They may very well wish they'd died quickly.

Focusing on getting our people back alive is what matters.

At this point, I don't give a shit how many of them get away. We shouldn't. Worse comes to worse, we find them when we can. What's more important is getting everyone in this room out of here. Especially the ones who can't do it alone.

[He pauses.] And if anything, their group will take care of them for helping us, anyway. I bet they know that, too.

[The urge to tell him to shut the fuck up about that is strong, but it won't help anything. And Jaskier knows the last thing they need is in-fighting between the Summoned who can actually provide aid.

He doesn't need this. The reminder or the urge to dwell on the torture he underwent himself.]

Request: Based on the end of the NPC thread with Jaskier/Sten/Quilleth, around the time the tents and medical supplies have gone up and Olenui Square has been secured, Jaskier will attempt to meet Sten again about a side acquisition of braerium. His intention is to have it made into bracelets or some other type of jewelry to pass out to the search team to protect them from the Acolytes' magic. He will be upfront with Sten about his intentions with it, especially as he realized his gaffe of asking for it in front of Quilleth the previous time.

Hello mods, I'm being tagged back in after putting out a thing to the whole group on plurk! 

We are going to pick option #1 you offered. Jayce, Rhy, Lenore, and Wanda (and possibly others) will approach the main warded entrance with the Thornean and Solvunn mages/NPCs. Kira says Wanda will use her patron god connection to help with the wards too if that works. If they can then get the ward down using the mages and Wanda's assistance, they will continue on down to try and get the attention of the acolytes so they will come up. 

Since they know the altar room is actually pretty deep, Wanda will be using her abilities to more or less aggressively and loudly slam at the entrance and the tunnel leading in to get their attention. Lenore has supernatural strength as well. They will be making as much noise as possible so the acolytes cannot ignore them. 

If this succeeds in getting them to investigate, Jayce and Rhy will say they are there to negotiate the surrender of their base and the people in it. They are flanked by some very powerful magic users so. You should listen!

As per our conversation before, the idea is that while they are distracting some of the acolytes, there will be an infiltration group that goes in through the tunnel Steve and Nero got through. They will be attempting to go through the sneaky route to find the captured people and see if there is a way out. 

We assume there will be people and monsters in the way of them doing that, which the infiltration team is interested in engaging with. Please let us know what next steps there will be!

steve and nero, then opening up to retrieval/negotiation team efforts

Where & when: Week 4, starting in the altar room and working outward.
Purpose: As an extension of the conversation in this thread, Steve and Nero volunteer to take a native out of the cavern through a secret tunnel, led by the dissenting acolyte. Eventually this will congregate them together with the Spared teams that will be working on negotiating the release of the other Lost, as well as providing distractions for an infiltration team that will attempt to use the same tunnel Nero and Steve left through to get inside.
Notes: For all participating characters, please feel free to use this top post to post smaller off-shoot threads for negotiation/infiltration as needed!

THREAD START
[Nero's in a far worse state than anyone should be who's offering to climb through a tunnel, but it's far from his first at this point. However, he's doing... better. Almost. The wound he got from trapping that goddamn thing weeks ago that was once festering, enflamed -- but probably that's not as bad as the fact it was full of vines thick with thorns, that constantly micro-cut his skin over and over as it tries to heal itself back -- is no longer weeping pus and blood. It's not closed up, but the skin around it's healed and pink, and he no longer has to hold his side as he walks. He's pale, and his white hair's turned brown from the lack of anything but a trickle of water, but he's still alive.

All he has left, at this point, is the hope that Geralt is right.

Goddamn. He better be right.

Besides, he's willing to bet he's the only idiot stupid enough -- and with the ability -- to fly. If they can even get a glimpse of where they are right now... he bets someone still down there's got the geographic knowledge he's lacking.

Separate from the others, Nero grabs Steve after the discussion, and the agreement of who will go. He leads him to the side, while the acolyte makes her preparations.] Look, I've got an idea if we make it topside. Let me go first. I need you tip-top for the stupid shit I'm gonna do, but -- I think I can get a clue as to where we are if we both make it.

[The problem is their third: a volunteer Nero suggested with a broken foot and lesions across her arms and shoulders. The same woman he saved from drowning when the cavern first broke apart. The one time starvation might've provided benefit is she isn't big. Far from it.] You think you can carry her through?

Only if you are sure. I'll promise you the best room in Nocwich, then, should you come. I know you'll make yourself ast home, as you always do.

[He's still no complaint of her pleasing herself with their finances, and he knows Nadine is the same.]

At least get some wine. You may need it.

[ She doesn't blame him. She had to message Geralt first, and he didn't even try to talk to her while he was kidnapped and imprisoned and tortured for two weeks.

They will be having a Talk when he's not on the edge of death. ]

Once we physically find them, I'll come to Nocwich.

But Jaskier, if any of the ones who escaped contact you, tell them to come to the Horizon. I don't know exactly how, but I think being around me is helping them feel better. At least a little.

This message is intended for anyone who's making their way to the island. Hopefully you've already landed.

By negotiating with one of the acolytes having second thoughts, Nero and I have made it above ground. If you've already arrived or you're close, you may have seen him fly briefly above the treeline. I'm hoping you can use that to narrow down our position, but if not I'll do what I can to direct you toward us.

The rest of the captives are still down below, locked up in a room that's filling up with water. If a few of you can sneak your way back the way we came, that's probably our best chance of getting everyone out of here alive. There will likely be some resistance along the way. Plenty of the acolytes are still dedicated to their cause, and there are some monsters down there besides.
