OOC Intro and CR Meme

Welcome to our OOC intro and CR meme. We encourage you all to get out there, plot, and introduce yourself!

There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game. Players are free to introduce their characters however they like.

◎ Nocwich is OPEN every first weekend of each month. Characters can get some cross-faction CR here! Beyond those 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and outside of game events, characters from opposing nations will only be able to see each other in the Horizon.

◎ You can review the newsletter here, which includes a Conclave meeting for all Summoned. New arrivals may participate!

◎ The OOC Plotting is scheduled for the 15th of this month, while the IC Event Log is scheduled for the 17th. This month's event will include a separate investigation related to Event #12 and a winter celebration across all major nations.

CHARACTER NAME: Arthur Ernest Hastings
CANON: We Happy Few

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Arthur is the pinnacle of the English Everyman. Polite, vaguely nervous, bookish....

Oh and he comes from an AU Earth where World War II was just World War I all over again, and his chain of islands was invaded, occupied, did terrible things under occupation, and now the whole community is cut off from the world and everyone is forced by law to take memory altering happy pills and behave in very specific ways.

Arthur chose to stop taking his happy pills, started realizing how very messed up his society is - I can't even begin to get into it in a basic blurb - and was kicked out and left to die for refusing to conform. He spent a hellish month trying to escape and open up people's eyes to the true state of their community, but no one would listen to him. And now he's here!

His world is very strange and he's very screwed up from it, but he also knows all of this. He wants to be a normal person, and experience actual emotions that don't come from a pill, and learn how to actually connect with and have relationships with other people. And he will not be shy about talking about how screwed up and cultish a place he comes from - though some things he will keep to himself. We don't talk about The Very Bad Thing. And don't ever ask him about his family...

He's only been here a handful of months and is settling in and getting used to living in a 'normal' society. He currently lives with the family of a nice carpenter, in their attic loft, and works with his host on making and repairing wooden wares of all sorts. He has a background in engineering.

CR YOU WANT: Arthur is still pretty new, does not know how to interact with people on a normal level, and is desperate to find a place in this new community. Having A Place is very important. He's still trying to shake off twenty years of living in a highly controlled, dystopian society and is going to often fall back on what he knows. He's trying very hard to let go of that, but a lifetime of rigid social structure and societal rules have left a mark on him.

Please help him live better and be better.

Also would love him to meet other people who have escaped/come out of cult and cult-like situations. He has a lot of healing to do and he needs a lot of help with it.

CR YOU DON'T WANT: Not into negative CR that comes out of nowhere!

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING! Arthur is actively trying to make connections and interact with other people. Also eager to help out around the community - his society places a large emphasis on helping the community and pulling your own weight. Also poking at the local Solvunn gods. Arthur had a local patron god back home - it was a talking sweet potato, don't ask - and will be interested in the gods around here.

Though he's a little more nervous, having learned the local gods are not what he's used to. They actually have power here, and manifest in terrible forms that are not at all friendly tubers!

But really mostly I'm still exploring Arthur adjusting to life outside of what he knows, and learning about how other people live and think and how extremely messed up his society was by comparison. He's still in that stage where he knows it was super screwed up, but he also sort of assumed the rest of the world was pretty screwed up just in a different way and really doesn't have enough of a comparison to fully grasp the hell he came from.
