IC INFORMATION
CHARACTER NAME: Goro
CANON: Mortal Kombat (specifically, he comes from somewhere in the twenty year timeskip from MKX.
SIGN: The Chariot
FACTION: The Free Cities
CHARACTER INFORMATION: The boss monster from that video game your parents wouldn't let you play as a kid because it was "too violent" (which is just downright quaint in 2021), Goro was busy helping an insurrection he'd originally been sent to put down on account of him being kind of a bastard. Since being summoned to Abraxas, he's been certain that war is upon them all, and he'd rather not be the loser. Since the undead rose on Eifstide, he's been doing what he can to "hasten" that eventuality along, mostly by drumming up anger against Solvunn for causing the whole mess. The movement's really picked up steam and by now pretty much everyone in the Cities will have reason to have at least heard about it (and it's concentrated in Cadens). He was also introduced to the Horizon by Sam early on and now has a domain, where he sometimes retreats to when he wants to hang in a place that, for him, is correctly-sized. He's an 8 foot tall, four-armed giant, literally nothing in Abraxas is made for him.
CR YOU WANT: Adversaries! Most of Goro's CR is going to be negative, as he is actively working to make the situation in Abraxas worse for everyone, in addition to being just the absolute worst. People willing to push back on his bullshit, confront him. People who show him what he considers to be the proper amount of deference however, may be treated with some modicum of respect, especially if Goro considers they might be useful to him in some way. Currently only a shady priest and Devil Forgemaster fall into this category though.
CR YOU DON'T WANT: Nothing leaps to mind, I'm willing to play it by ear.
PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Goro's anti-Solvunn movement is likely to play a role in this month's event, and there's going to be a rally in Cadens about it. He and those who follow him are demanding a delegation with a list of demands be sent to Solvunn, and when it does, he aims to be on that delegation. I don't know yet if he'll be participating in the PVP stuff (if it requires stealth, it's likely a no, since...*gestures*) but if there are negotiations to be had, he'd likely do his best to (subtly) sabotage them, and continue the push towards war. Also, that rebellion I mentioned above? It doesn't end well for him; the Kahn he betrayed lops off all his arms, his father raises a rebellion of his own in retaliation and ends up dead, and Goro loses his father's throne when the other ruling Shokan families reject him. He ends up on a journey to try and regain his power...a journey that was never concluded because the comics this storyline ran in got canceled and come MK11 his only appearance is as a long-dead corpse, and his name has become something of a joke amongst his people. If Goro were to find out any of this, he wouldn't...respond well, and would do everything in his power to prevent his fate from occurring.
ANYTHING ELSE?: Goro is extremely fearsome. Spoiler alert: the rest of the fight doesn't go much better for him.

LORD that gif brings me back. I was huge into MK around that movie’s release and boy I watched it so many times… It’s still as entertaining as before, if even just for the cheese factor, and I will die on that hill.
Anyway I have no idea how Stephen and Goro would meet but I think it would be fun if they did? Possibly be a trashfire, because Stephen would definitely push back against Goro’s goro-ness if given half a chance with good reason. He’s not much for physical prowess, but magical is another story!

But yes, I concur! I look forward to bouncing these two off each other especially since Estinien won't be intimidated by Goro (lbr Gorp's on the low end of the threat scale of things Estinien has fought/will fight in his own game. XD)
