CANON: Shades of Magic books, by V.E. Schwab (and for anyone who happens to be familiar, he's from the end of A Gathering of Shadows)
SIGN: The Lovers

CHARACTER INFORMATION: HELLO Rhy is brand new and I am so excited to clown around Thorne Castle eyyyyy

Rhy is a prince from a fantasy world, who once did a big fuck-up and accidentally got himself killed. Now he's kinda-sorta undead, with his soul bound to his adopted brother's (in canon; in game, it's bound to the Singularity). He's fine though, don't worry about it. Right now, he's honestly gonna be a bit. freaked out and depressed, but once he actually settles out a bit, he's usually a very friendly dude, a caring friend, and an openly thirsty bisexual disaster. You can read more about him here on his short lil wiki blurb if interested! At first, he's probably gonna be more withdrawn and then possibly rely way too hard on alcohol and distractions, but we'll see how that goes.

CR YOU WANT:
✧ friends, buddies, people to help get him laughing again because he is a sad idiot right now
✧ bad influences to encourage his worse instincts like overindulgence and selfishness
✧ lovers (of any gender), smut ok!
✧ political?? people??? I wanna get him involved in plot eventually, he's gonna need a lot of 'splaining because some shit is going down in Thorne and he knows nothing

CR YOU DON'T WANT:
✧ overly antagonistic cr, at least for now. I want to let him get his bearings and come out of being depresso a bit first, but it's not off the table entirely
✧ not necessarily "do not want" but I'm honestly not great at keeping up with smalltalk or just network tags as a player, and would prefer to sort of hash those out in advance and decide on a direction.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:
✧ Connection and bonds, to a possibly unhealthy degree; in canon, Rhy was reliant on his adopted brother, a powerful magic user, in a lot of ways. I'm really interested in finding similar codependent relationships for him to play out themes of this type. of course it wouldn't be the same type of bond, necessarily, but themes along those lines of being too reliant on another person. Rhy is someone who defines himself by other people; he needs to be needed, and I definitely want to play with that to potentially negative consequences!
✧ Themes of death and what it means to be alive, what is owed when you get an unexpected second chance, etc. Rhy has some survivor's guilt mixed with being grateful and also upset at the same time that he was brought back from the dead, without really being asked. That said, it's not exactly a conversation starter, so I expect it'll take some CR development or event shenanigans for him to reveal any of this ICly.
✧ Developing his magic; in canon, Rhy can barely use magic, which is extremely unusual in his world and would have left him shunned by society if he hadn't been lucky enough to be born royalty. His shame over this caused him to make a ton of mistakes and bad decisions to try to be more powerful. Now, he'll have a chance to actually be good at magic, but he's lost his home and all the reasons he wanted it in the first place. I am definitely keen on exploring how he's gonna feel about that!
✧ on a lighter note, I really just wanna. have him flirt with everyone!

I have not read his canon (yet) but I'm super down for these two to interact in any way. Hennessy can flirt and absolutely will encourage overindulgence and selfishness; those are two of the four food groups, right?

Inej is in Solvunn and I'm canon blind but I feel like they could have some interesting CR. Gonna keep an eye for opportunities 👀

Ooh, yes, that sounds wonderful! I love Inej (though I've only seen the netflix show). One of Rhy's friends back home is a thief so maybe it'll feel familiar haha
