IC Exchanges

Use this option for interactions you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For instance, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.

Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.

Investigations

Several investigation paths are available for characters to interact with. Each assignment group will have their own set of investigation paths. You can investigate something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Interacting with investigations might carry IC consequences. We'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something major. To investigate, fill out the form, then comment under the item you're investigating.

[She can't help but roll her eyes when mister blonde, chisel-jawed Adonis starts making his announcement. Like seriously, who died and make this guy captain of the world? The surliness though-- it's more instinct and affectation than anything she deep-down feels, and she does listen. Has to admit that he has a point.

They're all in this shit together, like it or not, and working in sync with each other ought to get them out a hell of a lot faster than if it's every person for themselves.]

Obvs I'm gonna be searching for a way out of here. But like, I've spent a decent amount of time out in the desert. I can hunt. I'm not planning on chowing down while everyone else goes hungry.

[Quite the opposite, despite the attitude-- she'll go out of her way to make sure everyone else survives. Take this as her offer to help.]

[ The answer is, he sacrificed himself and then the world sort of made him its captain while he was frozen in ice, but that's neither here nor there.

Steve isn't immediately put off by a bad attitude, especially because the stranger (though he's seen her around before, he's sure) is giving him her resume. He turns to her with a firm nod. ]

I appreciate that. We seem to have a decent number of people here with survival skills, and that'll go a long way to making sure we all stay fed enough to not start losing it.

[ Because people get irritated when they're deprived of food. They start snapping, they can't think clearly. It's the last thing they need. ]

[So maybe he's still giving her Mister Big Shot vibes, but he is making sense, and he has just asked for her name. At least someone's trying to move things along. Something in her relents, just slightly.]

Gideon. I've also got like, a years’ worth of experience breaking up tavern brawls, so if things do get to that point I can step in. Security too, for anyone without any combat experience. You know, in case we're attacked.

[Which seems increasingly likely.]

[ While any fight that breaks out here is going to be pretty different from a typical tavern brawl, that experience could still come in handy. She's got the muscle, he gets it. ]

I'm Steve. And I'd definitely appreciate you stepping in if anything gets physical. [ He doesn't really care if people snap at each other, it's bound to happen when they're trapped and barely have enough to eat. ]

I think there's at least a few people here who haven't been through anything like this before. Not just Summoned, but Abraxan natives who got caught up in this.

[ So yeah, security? They're gonna need it. ]

[She makes a sound somewhere between a wince and a hiss, screws up her face.]

Yeeeaaah, I noticed that. There's a bunch of people here who don't look like they're equipped to deal with something like this at all.

[Which worries her. They don't know what's happening, perhaps none of them are equipped for this, but at least a good number of the Summoned she knows have dealt with dangerous situations before. She's not sure she can say the same for some of the Abraxan shopkeepers and painters she's run into.]

And we should figure out a way of disseminating information, you know? Stuff we find out while were here. So nothing gets lost and no one gets left behind.

[ Steve's glad he's not the only one who's noticed. Sure, most people are trying to put on brave faces, but some of the captives are quite young. That doesn't necessarily mean they haven't been through the wringer, but he's seen Wilhelm and even Istredd with that hint of panic in their eye. ]

This main area is probably where most of us will congregate, at least. You just have to stand up and project your voice.

[ He quirks a smile. Case in point. ]

[So maybe he looks like an angular collection of jawbones, and maybe he's got the attitude of some kind of hot shot Third House knight-- but he seems alright. It's hard not to begin to soften the moment someone shows any kind of inclination to be nice to her.

So she clicks her tongue sharp against her teeth, gives him the finger guns.]

I'm better at mouthing off than delivering rousing speeches to the masses. If I figure anything out I'll come find you.

[ She sounds like any number of his teammates, especially with those finger guns. Given that he's the only one of them here, Steve finds some odd kind of comfort in it more than anything else. ]
