go to the OOC Plotting Post or IC Event Log

Mod Communications / Randomization
If you have something you want to do related to the event plot, you can communicate and coordinate with us here. This includes NPC meetings, requesting large resources, destroying the environment, or anything else that may require mod permission to proceed. If we can't accommodate a request for any reason, we'll do our best to offer an alternative!
You can also use this section to request a randomized mod roll.

You can also use this section to request a randomized mod roll.
Interactions
Several interactions are available. For Part 2, there are fewer mysteries to uncover, but plenty to interact with to see what happens. You can interact with something as many times as you want, as long as there's a reasonable explanation for your character making their second attempt. Note that interactions might carry IC consequences, though we'll try to telegraph when characters are at high risk of triggering something. To interact, fill out the form, then comment under the corresponding item.
Interact
IC Exchanges
Use this option if you have an interaction you'd like to play out, but setting up a standard IC thread would be impracticable. For example, if your character wants to speak to several people about an event they witnessed together, you might want to do an IC exchange.
Treat this like an informal IC network thread done in person, where character reactions, snippets of dialogue, and other details can be quickly played out and concluded in-game without committing to a full log thread. Exchanges are game canon, and can count towards Activity Check under the category of a Network thread.
Start an IC exchange
Using the provided form is optional. Begin a thread freeform if you prefer.

Network to Spared - Retrieval Team Formation
I'm sure you've seen that our lost friends are escaping on their own! Thanks to Julie for breaking the news and tending to those that she can. We'll get more information as more are able to come forward and find a safe space to reach out to us, but what we do know is that not all were able to make it out.
It looks like several people are already making plans to track those that did escape down, so I am planning on going to find the others.
We're still working our coordinates, but we do know that our suspicions are correct. They're up north on an island near the border of the Free Cities and Thorne. We know that Josselyn Creed is using her connections all over Abraxas to pull this off, but her time is short. We can find them.
We've had the support of our respective nations up until now and can still use that to our advantage. I think a road trip is nigh and I doubt I'm the only one itching to go and retrieve our friends.
Who's in?

Breaking and entering was probably already on the docket. Besides, and island is a much smaller place to scour. Illusions can be dispelled and walls can get broken.
The portal that dropping them off in the mountains may not be working anymore like Julie suggested, but smashing in doors is a tried and true method.

If there is a way to persuade the remaining cultists to let them out, we could try that. I doubt any of this is turning out the way they expected it to. If we can get them to hand them over to us, all the better.
But if not, yeah, smash in the doors.

Hopefully they would appeal to empathy or something, but some of them may feel their fates are already sealed. I'm not sure if we can reasonably offer them amnesty but it's worth trying. I think the hammer is going to come down hardest on Josselyn.
Though you're a blacksmith and Viktor is basically an alchemist, right? ...Can you make bombs?
[ You know. Just in case. If Goblins can make bombs surely Jayce and Viktor can. ]

We're both scientists, so, yes. I'm not sure that's a good idea, bombs in enclosed spaces like that can be very dangerous.
I'm thinking negotiation and/or espionage are the best moves here. Fighting our way in should be last, it sounds like they're caught in a tight space. We could easily crush our own people if done incorrectly.

Bombs can also make new spaces, yes? Just something to keep in mind.
[ Do not take bombs nor ever give Himeka a bomb. For everyone's sake. ]
Luckily we have a few people with skills in both. My friend Thancred is a master at the latter, actually. And he can make himself literally invisible for a bit. If he can help find a way in I'm sure we can get people out. I'm ready to knock out a few of our adversaries myself.

Unfortunately, it sounds like they set something big free in order to cause a distraction (or perhaps enough damage) to cover their escape and those that are left have been rounded up and contained in a smaller location. I'm told the entire area may have seawater slowly seeping in now, however, perhaps from the damage done in the escape attempt. It's not imminently dire, but any longer than a week might be a different story.
Himeka, I'm in. Let me know if there's anything additional you need from me, or where you want to start this.

Honestly I could use help with all of that. It's a group effort, right? I think we should all highlight our best skills and find out where we fit in best to save our friends. What is it you would like to do?
no subject
I don't know what state we'll find their captors in by this point. They've certainly thrown things into chaos, so that will either be to our benefit... or it'll make them desperate.

[ At least she knows herself. ]
Trying to find multiple ways in may be a good idea. Based on what Julie said the portal they were able to access was behind a wall covered in webbing, but I would be surprised if the ONLY way to go in was one specific portal... There has to be an old-fashioned way.
Once we're in, I admit I'd like to see if we can take our friends peacefully. But we may not get that option.

Plan A, they do as we say and it all ends peacefully. (And we can bring them to justice on our terms.)
Plan B, they're hesitant and we can try to wrangle out as many of our friends as possible. (Mayhaps this is where you were mentioning distractions? Right under their noses.)
Plan C, we begin combat.
I'm not really afraid of any of those options. If it comes to C, I'm prepared to keep everyone up when it's needed.
[ Full Party, get. ]

Should you need strength or violence, I am likely the best person to call upon.

I'd like to get our friends back with the least amount of bloodshed as possible, but I don't think that's something we can count on. The lengths they've gone to conceal what they're doing and how much harm they've caused...they may be willing to do anything.

Not yet. I kind of wrote this up while pacing. I figure our factions can help us out if we ask, but is that something you'd like to do?

Either way, this is one of the few times every nation has been on common ground. This may also show them that they can work together when it matters.

In the meantime, I will consult with Stephen and Yennefer about appealing to Thorne officials for aid.

All of those skills are highly in need! Thank you so much for offering to help. I think we'll need everyone we can in order to pull this off. Our friends are likely in poor condition so we very well may need to carry them out, too.
I'm in agreement. We may need to figure out what leverage we can offer if they need convincing, so I'll have to see what the Council would be okay with. But we should be ready if worst comes to worst.
