Welcome to our OOC intro and CR meme. We encourage you all to get out there, plot, and introduce yourself!

There is no formal introduction log for characters joining the game. Players are free to introduce their characters however they like.

◎ Nocwich is OPEN every first weekend of each month. Characters can get some cross-faction CR here! Beyond those 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and outside of game events, characters from opposing nations will only be able to see each other in the Horizon.

◎ You can review the newsletter here, which includes a Conclave meeting for all Summoned. New arrivals may participate!

◎ The OOC Plotting is scheduled for the 15th of this month, while the IC Event Log is scheduled for the 17th. This month's event will include a separate investigation related to Event #12 and a winter celebration across all major nations.

ABOUT YOU: i'm a college instructor by day, amateur writer and film nerd by always, and i have a really cute cat. lifelong star wars fan, both (affectionate) and (derogatory) depending on the day, and also a fan of marvel comics, both (affectionate) and (derogatory) depending on the day. there's a whole host of other fandoms i'm into as well; currently rewatching house md for the first time in years, so that's fun.

CHARACTER INFORMATION: the best way to succinctly describe jyn is that she's an angry feral cat who's had some trauma but under all of that, she just wants to find people she can count on and trust, as well as a home to call her own and a life to live freely without the influence of the fascist autocracy she's clawed to survive under the thumb of. she comes from the star wars universe, her father was the lead scientist who worked on the death star project, she was taken in by rebel militant saw gerrera and trained as a child soldier before being left on her own. and while she will eventually be one of those who leads the mission to scarif in rogue one to steal the death star plans and transmit them to the rebellion, she's coming to you from early in the movie when she's just been broken out of imperial prison, so none of that has happened for her yet!

also as an fyi, she is definitely going by a false name because she Does Not Trust Like That — and also she hasn't gone by her real name since she was eight years old, and has a lot of complicated feelings about it! there's a strong possibility that she might use more than one false name.

CR YOU WANT: jyn is a sort of prickly, antagonistic type (because this is largely how she protects the most vulnerable parts of herself from the rest of the world), so if you're in for some negative cr where our characters have stupid arguments about things all the time, or just don't mind things being a little prickly at first, this is definitely your girl! she is also someone who's very moved by kindness, more than she would outwardly acknowledge she is, so she's also very prone to building fast friendships and seeking out people she feels a need to protect. learning how to rely on others again is an arc i'd really like to work on for her, so anyone who would be patient enough to work past how she might present initially and be here for her kinder, softer sides is definitely also cr i would like.

CR YOU DON'T WANT: honestly there isn't much i don't want? like, not to be a total dwrp cliche, but the sky's the limit.

PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: as mentioned, one of my larger character arc wants with jyn is to get her trusting people again, get her relying on and working with people again. without the film development from rogue one under her belt here, i'm curious to see any similarities and differences in how she'll come to work with a team again here. additionally, she is suspicious as FUCK of everything thorne is about, from what she's seen so far, so anyone who's thinking along those lines and would maybe be interested in planning out some kind of long-term "find out the truth"/sabotage kind of thing? 👀 so here for that. she also very deeply cares about what happens to civilians/innocents, so that's definitely an angle to get her involved in the plot and i'm also here for those possibilities.

but also, in general, i'm super new, and i'm still learning the lore of the game, so anything, really!

Welcome! I'm Dee, I enjoyed our thread on the TDM, would love to keep it canon if you don't mind! His partner is an angry feral cat so he knows how to handle them, or at least try not to get bitten by them. We can have them talk again at the Thorne mingle if you want!

I also play Jesper Fahey from Shadow and Bone itookashot, he's a very sociable and charming young gunslinger, and Julia Wicker from the Magicians divinityfrompain, who is a quiet and troubled witch-goddess.

But he is very patient and he will get the angry feral cat to eventually tolerate his existence.

Hi Caitlin, welcome to the game!! I have to immediately tell on myself and say that I don't know much about Star Wars as it's been on my list to finally sit down and catch up on someday for entirely too long BUT Jyn sounds great! I have Claude here and they have some overlap in being very Not Trusting, having to learn to rely on others (though this is more in his past at this point), wanting to uncover the truth about everything, and also trauma for good measure because why not. With a bit of paraphrasing here he was an outsider himself for a while and tends to identify with others who do that and/or the keeping others at a good length away thing too, and he wouldn't be dissuaded by any of that to continue annoying her into some version of friendship, possibly? If it'd work!!

He's over in the Free Cities so if there's not something in the event coming up that'd work for cross faction stuff, I do plan on putting up a log for him in January with opens for either the Horizon or Nocwich or I can tag into yours if you put one up before then, whichever happens first!

i know claude through rp osmosis, and i am so intrigued by the kind of cr he and jyn could have together! there's a lot of potential for them to be friends, and i would love to explore that. i'll definitely keep an eye out for stuff for the event, because i'll be throwing jyn into that for sure, in some way, but your january log sounds like a perfect opportunity if they don't run into each other there!

oh, we definitely need to get into this somehow. i'm trying to figure out how the timelines mash up (i'll admit i haven't actually played jedi survivor or jedi fallen order all the way through), but cal... might've actually met saw and the partisans when jyn was still with them, based on the timeline. and that's a really interesting possibility 🤔

lord i don't remember the rogue one timeline exactly but like cal met saw in 14bby and worked with him repeatedly through at least 9bby (when survivor happens) soooo.....

i think they might overlap? also cal doesn't even try to be incognito at all so i think it's very possible she could've heard about saw's extremely wanted jedi pal who does the occasional terrorism for intel or whatever lmao

anyway HI i'm court, welcome to the game! i play thancred here from final fantasy xiv and also steve rogers from mcu fame (assembles). thancred's in thorne, though, and i would be thrilled to toss him at jyn sometime!

he's pretty much always keeping an eye on thorne's nonsense and has a spy/espionage background. he also tends to be pretty good at handling prickly types and not being too thrown off by them, so i think he'd be able to handle jyn's... jyn-ness.

Heyhey welcome, so glad to see Jyn here! I am also a lifelong Star Wars fan, both of the affectionate & derogatory variety lol so I feel you. I have the Doctor here from Doctor Who and if you're not canon familiar, his energy will be a direct contrast to hers so I could absolutely see some very warranted prickliness on her part if it goes that way. He's all about kindness, though, so I'm curious to see how their CR could shake out!

Hi Caitlin! I didn't make it to hit up Jyn on the tdm but super glad to see her here, she's one of my favorite recent (ish) Star Wars characters. I'm Jaina and I have Nathan Drake from Uncharted and Altaïr from Assassin's Creed and will definitely make sure to hit Jyn up with at least one of them! Welcome to the game!
