ABOUT YOU: Hi all! Fresh meat here, excited to have joined the game! I’m an artist who works in a screen printing shop, so when I’m not staring at a screen all day at work, I come home and stare at a screen to either game or rp! Some long-time fandoms include the MCU (obviously… I’ll never escape), Final Fantasy, Soulsborne anything, and tons of other things probably. I’m a big horror fan too!

CHARACTER NAME: Stephen Strange
CANON: Marvel Cinematic Universe

FACTION: Thorne

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Stephen was once a gifted neurosurgeon before a terrible accident irreparably damaged his hands, forcing him to find a means to heal them. The long and short of it? He traveled halfway across the world to study magic, became a sorcerer, smoothed over some big character flaws, and took on the responsibility to protect his reality from mystical threats. You know, as one does.

Stephen still identifies with being a doctor, but basically he’s a magic man who’s endlessly curious, unsurprisingly stubborn, and tends to solve problems in his canon via vaguely rule-breaking or unexpected ways. He’s sarcastic but without a mean streak — he’s learned that the world doesn’t revolve around him and appreciates those who can reasonably say the same. May or may not be found with his nose stuck in a book at any given time!

Canon point is that ambiguous time period post-Endgame for those curious!

CR YOU WANT: Anything! Stephen needs to get to know people and settle in. But I’m particularly excited for fellow characters whose interests revolve around magic, too; let them be nerds together. Besides that, I’m just as open to friends as I am to characters he can butt heads with.
CR YOU DON'T WANT: I honestly can’t think of anything right now. I’m pretty open since I’m new!
PLOTS/THREADS/THEMES YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Plots that have to do with researching the world’s magic, or learning/crafting new spells. Getting his feet wet with regards to all the kingdom politicking. Bending the rules a little for the greater good. Indulging him in music trivia. I’m here for so many things.

Only the nerdiest! What better way to spend one’s time than frantically prying out every single tidbit of information about this world’s magic from every source one can get their hands on? It’s fine.

Sasarai here is a general/bishop with a sentient crystal inside him that is actually an earth deity. He's also very magic nerdy, having grown up in a giant library.

Around Thorne he is always trying to learn new things and he's a politics sort. They're bound to run into each other.

HELLO NEW FRIEND… I’m excited to be here and doubly excited to (eventually) thread with Sam. Stephen is going to be Tired when he finds out another version of himself was already here, and Frustrated that he can’t just magically retain all the information the other him undoubtedly dug up about this world… BUT ALSO learning that a castmate is in another faction sure adds a delicate twist to the overall situation, so that’s very 👀 IM READY!!

ALSO YEN!! I used to play from the Witcher games, so I am familiar-ish. (I really need to sit down and watch the show.) I didn’t realize this was CR I needed until right this moment, please let us have them meet. MAGIC TIME

it's going to be complicated all around I imagine because Sam and Strange had a kind of allies/buddies/etc going on so stephen gets to have sam just. already be in that work-friend-zone too. c: sam's got SOME UNDERSTANDING OF STUFF but also has some (a single) connection to thorne so he can also probably help strange there too. c:

AND AHHHH yeah I have not played any of the games but the show and me are on GREAT terms and I think stephen and yen have very similar priorities re: magic in the world PLUS I just think they'd be neat so. c: congrats you get me on BOTH SIDES OF THE FACTIONS

So Ronan's whole deal is breaking reality and I'm very curious how Strange will react to him....... They will probably meet right away because Ronan offers to give newcomers everything they want when they arrive. He's the world's least cheerful welcome committee.

You know, Stephen’s not even really sure what to expect at this point, so the world’s least enthusiastic welcoming committee will at least be novel in comparison to everything else. Buddy r u ok

Reality-breaking is generally a bad idea and I’m sure Stephen will not find it all that comforting?? But context is everything and the good doctor here has not always abided but strict rules himself, so… judgement withheld for now, maybe.

Yesss absolutely! It does seem like Stephen’s poised to run in the same circles eventually as Kylo — or at least share similar interests. Especially since he’ll likely believe that they should turn a laser-focus to the Singularity and figure out what to do about it sooner rather than later.

As for wizard nerdery… magical experimenting all around! Hilarious/worrying backfires may or may not apply.

Welcome to the game, Jen! I have a lizard sorceress who would love to chat with your neurosurgeon turned sorcerer. She's in Solvunn but she's experimenting quite a bit with what she can do in Horizon but has quite a few theories on how things may be working in the world as a whole. Comparing MCU magic lore would be fun!

For sure! I think a big appeal is going to be comparing different sorts of magic and seeing what synergizes. If they run into each other in Horizon, maybe they can strike up some conversation regarding their respective worlds' magic... even though Stephen's own is very generalized and the rules are wibbly wobbly

Hello!! I enjoyed our thread too, and Stephen would for sure be a potential study buddy! Their circumstances might not have been exactly the same, but he can absolutely relate to what it feels like to be garbage at magic in the beginning.

Besides, this world's magic is still very new to him, so no doubt they can both make mistakes and stumble just a little along the way.

Geralt knew the previous Strange a little, so he'll be curious about this other one that's shown up. His interests are not specifically in magic, but he does know a lot about it since it's just. Everywhere in his world.

Pfft thankfully Stephen is able to parse the whole idea of an alternate version of himself better than most, but he will be equally curious about Geralt by default. Magical discussions are a bonus but not required; he’s also very curious about the political situation in this world, since he’s new and doesn’t know what the heck is going on.

Also? Can I just say the Witcher crew here looks GREAT and I’m excited to see what you guys get up to from a popcorn.gif perspective, too.

Emet-Selch is a fellow sorcerer and would be more than glad to talk shop! The only problem is that he's in Solvunn, so we'd have to figure out some other way to get them talking to each other. Maybe in Horizon, once Stephen ends up there?
